Description
Pedestal is so named due to the elevation of the Margaret River vineyard we initially sourced fruit from to create these wines.
It is with our Pedestal range, now encompassing a number of vineyards from north to south, that we seek to uncover and express sub-regionality in this part of the world. In general terms, Northern Margaret River is better suited to red wines with its slightly warmer Indian Ocean influence whereas southern Margaret River is better suited to whites due to the cooling influence of the Southern Ocean breeze.
Showcasing the best of the Margaret River region. “The idea was to use varieties for which the region is famous, and to make wines that were definitively Margaret River in style.” Pedestal wines are made purely from Margaret River fruit. Being a large wine-growing region stretching more than 100km from north to south, Margaret River offers great diversity in soil and micro-climates.
Our Pedestal range takes advantage of this, to create wines that typify what Margaret River does best. We source our reds from the north and whites from the cooler southern end of the region – a very simple, yet effective, fruit-sourcing philosophy.
